Suzy Sureck draws with light through projection and spatial layering, cross-pollinating disciplines for experiential interaction. Whether using aquatic footage, aerial views of rivers, microscopic cellular imagery or branching systems of the human body, her works applaud the interdependence of our diversity, earth's inherent complexities and cycles, and acknowledge the increased vulnerability of our planet and ourselves. Her multi-disciplinary sculptural installations, videos and drawings have been exhibited in museums, galleries and sculpture parks in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Korea, Australia, and India. Along with collaborating with natural elements, she enjoys collaborating with composers and choreographers and has presented projection performances at Lincoln Center. Suzy's works have been reviewed in Hyperallergic, The New York Times, Sculpture Magazine, World Art, Flash Art and. New Observations. Suzy has been awarded art residencies at MassMOCA, Yaddo, Art Omi, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, ALN and Vermont Studio Center. She received her B.F.A from Cooper Union and M.F.A in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy. She is an educator at Pratt Institute and DIA:Beacon. Suzy lives and works in Gardiner, NY and New York City.
